Luke Littler successfully defended his World Matchplay Darts title in Blackpool, defeating Gerwyn Price 18-9 in a dominant performance. Littler recorded an exceptional 111.53 average and hit 12 maximums, securing six ton-plus finishes in the final.

This victory marks Littler as only the fourth player in history to win back-to-back World Matchplay titles. He led 11-3 at one point, with Price, despite a strong 104.97 average, unable to overcome Littler's scoring power. Littler's display also saw him break the tournament scoring record previously held by Phil Taylor.

The 19-year-old averaged over 109 in all five matches, further cementing his status by reclaiming the Phil Taylor Trophy and the £200,000 prize. This win extends his remarkable streak of winning every PDC major in 2026 and his lead in the PDC rankings.
