Omar Marmoush to Tottenham: Fit in De Zerbi's squad

Tottenham are in talks to sign Omar Marmoush, with no agreement yet reached. The north London club’s summer spending looksوا to exceed £300m, having already spent £229.5m on centre‑back Jan Paul van Hecke and midfielders Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, and a £75m deal on Manchester City winger Savinho.

Marmoush’s influence at City ethic has diminished, with 16 goals in 62 appearances and limited Premier League minutes due to competition with Haaland and a squad packed with specialists. Nedum Onuoha notes that the miss in the 2025 FA Cup final should not define Marmoush’s spell.

De Zerbi’s side thrives on forwards who move positions and run in behind. Marmoush, a number‑nine who also operates on the flank, averages 11.46 runs in behind per 90 and 5.67 progressive carries, surpassing Spurs’ existing forwards in shots, chances created and touches in the box. He could complement Dominic Solanke rather than replace him.

Overall, Marmoush could add depth, create space and fit Tottenham’s style, offering a useful asset for De Zerbi’s attack.
