What should the country expect from Kamario Taylor in 2026? This was the question posed to the Mississippi State quarterback in late July at SEC media days. Taylor grinned. "The country should expect a walking highlight reel," he told ESPN. "Every time I touch the ball, it's going to be something special happening."
Taylor's biggest test to date comes this week against Alabama (noon ET on ABC), serving as an official coming-out party. Still, Taylor is not a Lamar Jackson clone. He's taller and stronger, but not the same speedster. If the specifics are wrong, the comparison gets the vibe right. Watching Taylor feels like watching Heisman-era Jackson.
Those NFL draft predictions have merit. Taylor has all the tools. But we've seen that story before. Worse is the constant buzz over whether Taylor will transfer. He's Mississippi born and bred. He grew up wanting to play for the Bulldogs. Taylor has started six games.
