Women’s health company Evvy announced a $40 million Series B funding round led by Catalio Capital Management on Tuesday. Launched in 2021 by Priyanka Jain, Laine Bruzek, and Pita Navarro, Evvy operates what it claims is the world's only at-home CLIA-certified and CLEP-certified m NGS test to analyze vaginal microbes using one swab. Since launch, the company has served over 100,000 patients across the United States and works with 3,000 practitioners.

The firm has generated 15 peer-reviewed publications and identified novel bacterial vaginosis subtypes. CEO and co-founder Priyanka Jain stated the funding will support the company's goal of building a dataset connecting microbiome biology, symptoms, interventions, and health outcomes. Evvy also recently launched an AI assistant designed to translate collected microbiome data into real-time user guidance.

The startup is now entering the fertility space, specifically linking vaginal microbiomes to infertility and IVF success rates through a prospective study. Jain emphasized the need for high-quality female biology data to improve precision medicine and AI models in women's health. Alongside Evvy, competitors in the space include Juno Bio, Tiny Health, and Daye.

Jain hopes the company can eventually create a new-age Pap smear offering regular, data-rich insights across fertility, endometriosis, and HPV progression.
