Permira has appointed Julia Liuson, former president of Microsoft's developer division, as a senior adviser to its technology team in Menlo Park. Liuson brings more than 30 years of experience across enterprise software, developer tools, cloud services and AI. At Microsoft, she led the global developer business, including Azure developer services, Dev Sec Ops platforms, oversight of Git Hub, and earlier led Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code. At Permira, she will work with the technology sector team and portfolio company leadership to accelerate AI adoption and product development, and contribute expertise in product, engineering and AI to due diligence processes. The appointment follows veteran technology investor Mike Hoffman, who joined Permira's technology team as partner in June 2026. Permira's portfolio companies are generating over $800 million of AI-native annual recurring revenue, growing at more than 100 percent year-on-year. Permira, founded in 1985, advises funds across private equity and credit strategies with more than $110 billion of total committed capital and has backed technology businesses including Genesys, Team Viewer, Zendesk, Mimecast and Informatica.
