EQT's BPEA Fund VII has agreed to sell Acuon Group to a consortium led by Hanwha Life Insurance and Centroid Investment Partners. Acuon, comprising Acuon Capital and Acuon Savings Bank, manages approximately 10 trillion Korean won in total assets. Hanwha Life, a Korean life insurer and part of Hanwha Group, will acquire the independent financial platform based in Korea. The transaction includes Acuon's corporate, commercial, and retail financing operations.

During EQT's holding period since 2019, Acuon significantly strengthened its corporate governance and modernized its digital infrastructure. Acuon Savings Bank rose from ninth to fifth among Korean savings banks by total lending assets. The bank is one of only three in Korea running a modern Java-based core banking system, and its mobile app now has over one million subscribers. EQT invested to support growth in Korea's small and medium-sized enterprise and retail lending markets. Using data, AI-based credit scoring, and automation, Acuon has fully digitalized consumer loan origination, cutting loan disbursement times from 36 hours to just under five minutes. The transaction remains subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.
