The Nevada Transportation Authority has approved Tesla, Waymo, and Uber for Autonomous Vehicle Network Company permits, allowing paid robotaxi service in Clark County, including Las Vegas. Tesla received permission to deploy up to 5,000 robotaxis over 12 months with statewide operation rights.

During the August 20th meeting, Tesla disclosed it's creating a five-minute emergency response video for first responders with law enforcement. The company stated 5,000 is the maximum deployment, targeting 2,500 robotaxis on Nevada streets by 2027.

Waymo secured approval for 1,000 robotaxis and can now charge for rides after receiving full autonomy permission in July. Uber also received its permit for 1,000 robotaxis, which it will operate with Amazon's Zoox and Hyundai's Motional.
