Two new Mac Pro models were in development: an Intel-based J170 for users needing PCI-E graphics card support, and an Apple Silicon J190 with an M3 Ultra chip slated to launch alongside the M3 Ultra Mac Studio in 2025. The Intel model addressed specific workflows unsupported by Apple Silicon.

Looking ahead, reports indicate an M5 Ultra Mac Studio arriving by late 2026, with an M7 Ultra version planned for 2028. The Mac Pro's quiet exit marks the end of Apple's modular tower era, leaving the Mac Studio as the company's flagship desktop.
