Apple has implemented a modest price increase for its monthly AppleCare+ subscription plans covering Macs and iPads. Effective July 15, the cost for these plans has risen by 50 cents per month, translating to an additional $5 per year for those opting for annual payments.

This adjustment affects various Mac and iPad models. For instance, AppleCare+ for a 13-inch MacBook Air now costs $7.99 monthly or $79.99 annually, up from $7.49 and $74.99 respectively. The Mac mini starts at $4.49 per month, while a 16-inch MacBook Pro is $15.99 per month. iPad pricing also sees a similar increase, with a base iPad at $5.99 per month and an 11-inch M4 iPad Air at $6.99 per month.

AppleCare+ plans covering multiple devices remain unchanged at $19.99 per month for three devices, with additional products costing $5.99 each. Importantly, existing subscribers are grandfathered into their current pricing, with the change applying to new sign-ups. The price hike is currently limited to Macs and iPads, with an anticipated extension to iPhone plans in the fall.
