Google has released factory and OTA images for the Pixel Watch 5, introducing a unified build strategy. The smartwatch, codenamed goteria, now uses a single software build CD5A.260611.00 for both Wi-Fi and LTE models, eliminating the split seen in previous generations.\n\nThis consolidation could simplify Google's internal software process and reduce complexity for future updates. The Pixel Watch 5 runs on Wear OS 7, based on Android 17, and includes new features like Gemini Intelligence and At a Glance alongside hardware upgrades such as 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.\n\nHowever, flashing factory images still requires Google's invite-only debug adapter, as with the Pixel Watch 4.

Unlocking the bootloader reduces security and wipes the device. With the software foundation set, the September update will indicate how quickly Google extends the experience to older Pixel Watches.
