Director of Audio Product Marketing Eric Treski clarified the ANC improvement represents an average across all frequencies, not cherry-picked ranges. The performance gains come entirely from processing speed and improved algorithms running on the H2 chip, making hardware-free upgrades "incredibly difficult to achieve" according to Apple.
