ممداني يغيب عن مسيرة يوم كولومبوس

mayor Zohran Mamdani chose not to attend New York City's Columbus Day parade, following through on a campaign pledge to avoid parades and focus on governing. His decision disappointed some Italian American New Yorkers and parade organizers who expect mayoral participation. A spokesperson confirmed he would instead host an Italian American heritage reception at Gracie Mansion.

Mamdani also released a video celebrating Italian American Heritage Month. Organizers of the Brooklyn Columbus Day parade welcomed him at future events and hoped he would return in 2027. The move echoes past tensions over mayoral attendance at cultural parades.
