أكد رئيس وزراء باكستان شهباز شريف يوم الثلاثاء أن البلد ي firmly believes that the US-Iran peace framework brokered in Islamabad offers the best prospect for peace in the region. Speaking at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meeting in Bishkek, Sharif said Pakistan’s sustained diplomatic efforts culminated in the signing of the landmark Islamabad MoU, which he described as a critical step toward regional de-escalation and restoration of peace. He emphasized that the Islamabad MoU provides the most viable and enduring pathway to lasting peace.

The remarks were made during a SCO gathering where regional security and diplomatic cooperation were central topics. Sharif’s comments underscore Pakistan’s active role in mediating between the US and Iran amid ongoing tensions. The Islamabad MoU, signed earlier in 2026, has been positioned by Islamabad as a cornerstone of its foreign policy initiative to stabilize South and Central Asia.

The Prime Minister reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to supporting dialogue and peaceful resolution of conflicts through multilateral engagement.
