Intel Nova Lake-S Big iGPU Delayed to Razor Lake

Intel's long-rumored "big iGPU" version of the upcoming Nova Lake-S desktop processor has been postponed according to leaker Jaykihn. The SKU, featuring 12 Xe3P cores and a 16-core (4+8+4) CPU cluster, was designed for light gaming and 3D work. It has been moved to launch with the Razor Lake generation, debuting a year after Nova Lake.

This delay means we are quite far from seeing a desktop APU capable of excellent integrated graphics performance. Previously, reports indicated this SKU could support DDR5-8000 memory through CSODIMM modules with a PL2 setting of about 40 W. The configuration includes four P-Cores, eight E-Cores, and four LPE-Cores alongside 12 Xe3P GPU cores.

This 4+8+4 CPU core and 12 GPU core setup requires two VCCGT phases for power delivery, unlike regular single-phase SKUs. The PL2 is set at 40 W, with 65 W reserved for extreme PL3 scenarios and the graphics processor's PL4 capped at 65 W. Xe3P features more microarchitectural changes compared to Xe3 in Panther Lake.

Since all of that is now moved to Razor Lake, we can continue to look forward to Intel offering SKUs that include a single compute die.
