Intel has officially confirmed the LGA1954 socket for its upcoming Nova Lake-S desktop processors through an internal test tool published on its website. This marks the first time Intel has directly linked the new socket to the Core Ultra 400 series in an official capacity. The company is moving away from the current LGA1851 platform, with Nova Lake-S set to debut alongside Intel 900-series motherboards.

Previous shipping manifests and leaked images had already revealed the socket's existence and physical design, including a 2L ILM mechanism. The validation hardware listing serves as engineering enablement equipment, solidifying the platform transition. Nova Lake is currently expected to launch in Q1 2027, representing the next major desktop architecture shift for Intel.
