Mozilla has started rolling out Firefox 157 via its FTP server. The update enables the Nova UI by default, which was previously an experimental flag. Nova gives Firefox a rounder, softer look with pastel colors and reintroduces compact mode to reduce visual clutter.\n\nFirefox 157 also improves HDR video playback, video and audio synchronization at varying speeds, and removes the built-in Amazon search engine.

Building on WebRTC improvements, it adds hardware AV1 video decoding for WebRTC calls, replacing software decoding.\n\nThe update follows Firefox 156, which enhanced file handling and video decoding for Arm users. Mozilla's earlier roadmap detailed these UI changes, and beta versions confirmed the features now included in the stable release.
