Enterprise SSD Prices to Rise in 4Q26 on Strong North American Demand

U.S. cloud service providers (CSPs) have upgraded enterprise SSD demand forecasts over the past two weeks, per Trend Force research. Major CSPs are accelerating deployments and expanding SSD use across more applications, driving total 4Q26 orders above already elevated 3Q26 levels. Demand growth spans both high-performance TLC and cost-efficient QLC products, with QLC emerging as a significant catalyst due to superior capacity and cost efficiency. This gives NAND Flash suppliers greater control over capacity allocation and pricing, supporting continued enterprise SSD price increases.

Trend Force notes demand drivers have expanded beyond LLM training toward concrete AI applications. Agentic AI systems are fueling rapid growth in real-time data retrieval and caching needs. QLC storage is seeing broader adoption in vector databases, where high capacity and cost efficiency suit large volumes of unstructured data. Wider agentic AI adoption is expected to further increase QLC enterprise SSD penetration across North American cloud and data center applications.

In China, AI architectures led by Deep Seek are promoting high-capacity QLC enterprise SSDs for KV cache offloading. By offloading cached data from memory to high-speed QLC SSDs, these architectures improve model inference efficiency at lower cost, potentially driving broader QLC adoption in the Chinese market.
