Cooler Master's GPU Shield adapter cable officially launched in the US after debuting in China in early August 2026. The $49.99 device, shown at CES 2026, monitors 12v-2×6 GPU power cables for dangerous current anomalies. When higher-than-normal current is detected, it issues visual and auditory warnings before actively reducing power to prevent connector meltdowns.

The adapter features dual-color connector tips to ensure proper insertion into GPUs and PSUs, and includes 200 mm of cable length suitable for most standard PC cases. This portable version improves on Cooler Master's built-in PSU technology, which is often hidden in modern cases. Early reports linked the need for such protection to DLSS 5 testing causing melted RTX 5090 connectors with power spikes exceeding 600W.
