Lyndon Dykes scored his first two goals for injury-hit Millwall as they returned to winning ways in the Sky Bet Championship with a 4-0 victory over Bolton at The Den. The Lions made light of having 11 first-team players unavailable and their recent heavy defeats, inflicting a third consecutive loss on Bolton. A late burst of three goals in nine minutes gave the final score an emphatic look, while both teams finished with 10 men after Millwall midfielder Jenson Metcalfe and Bolton captain Josh Sheehan were sent off for violent conduct.

Bolton had an early chance when Sam Dalby played a one-two with Sheehan before scuffing wide. Millwall took the lead in the 38th minute when Metcalfe hung up a corner for Caleb Taylor to head in. Dykes almost doubled the lead early in the second half with a 40-yard lob that Jack Bonham tipped over the bar.

Bolton came close to equalising twice, but Max Crocombe made key saves. Millwall made the game safe in the 83rd minute when Bonham allowed Dykes to nick a Camiel Neghli long ball and walk it into the net. Three minutes later, Metcalfe and Sheehan were both sent off after a fight.

Dykes added his second in the 88th minute after beating Bonham at his near post. In stoppage time, Yanis Issoufou played the ball through for Neghli to score a composed fourth goal.
