Calvert-Lewin's wastefulness once defined him at Everton, but he has already matched his Premier League goal total from his final four seasons there. "Sometimes a move rejuvenates a player," said Jamie Carragher. The gap between his expected goals and actual goals has narrowed.

His goals against Newcastle showcased his threat: a header from James Justin's cross and a run in behind to finish Tarik Muharemovic's pass. Farke called him "one of the standout strikers in the league."

The 29-year-old offers speed and aerial strength. He is joint-top for aerials won and ranks in the top 10 for runs in behind. "His work-rate is top," Farke added. Leeds have managed his minutes, and he has avoided injury recurrence.
