The incident occurred in stoppage time after Haaland had sealed a 2-0 victory with his second goal. Haaland told Norway's TV2: "You'll be seeing a picture where he's grabbing my bottom. It'll be interesting to see that picture."

The match was marred by several flashpoints, including a clash in the tunnel at halftime. Porto were angered that City's Marc Guéhi was not sent off for catching Gabri Veiga in the head with his arm. Skirmishes continued after the final whistle, with reports of pushing and shoving in the tunnel.

UEFA will await reports from referee Szymon Marciniak and match delegate Stephanie Ford before deciding on any disciplinary action. City could face a fine. Porto coach Francesco Farioli argued that Guéhi should have been sent off, saying: "The footage is very clear."

Haaland, who has now scored five goals in three games, credited extra practice with his dad Alf-Inge for his improved heading. "I've worked a lot on my heading and it's become a strength," he said. "Two days ago I was practicing headers with my dad in the garden."
