Sixteen-year-old Philadelphia Union phenom Cavan Sullivan headlines the 28-player roster named by U.S. men's national team manager Mauricio Pochettino for the upcoming FIFA international window, while AC Milan attacker Christian Pulisic was left off. The roster includes 13 uncapped players.

"It's a completely different approach than it was in the past," Pochettino said. "The World Cup is in four years. We need to work with different objectives and goals." Veterans like Tyler Adams and Chris Richards are also included.

The USMNT will face Peru on Sept. 26 in Orlando, Chile on Sept. 29 in St. Louis, Mexico on Oct. 3 in Glendale, Arizona, and Canada on Oct. 6 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Players report to Atlanta on Sept. 20.

Sullivan, who turns 17 on Sept. 28, has nine goals and 15 assists this season. If he debuts, he'll be the second-youngest USMNT player behind Freddy Adu. Pulisic's omission was expected as he recently returned from injury. Weston Mc Kennie and Diego Luna are out injured.
