Andros Townsend described being run over by a pitch roller in Thailand as "quite terrifying," saying he thought he was done as teammates recoiled in horror. The former England winger, now playing for PT Prachuap, remarkably escaped injury during the incident while participating in a rondo during halftime. Speaking on Piers Morgan's Football Uncensored, Townsend said he was in disbelief and had to explain to his kids that the video was real, not AI.

He managed to fall onto the floor at the right time, avoiding serious damage as the roller went over him. Townsend joked that he has not pressed charges against the roller's driver. He has also played for Kanchanaburi Power and was last in English football with Luton Town in the 2023-24 campaign.

At halftime, he had seen two rollers on the side of the pitch but didn't think anything of it until he was underneath one. Teammates turned away in shock and called for a stretcher, but Townsend continued the warm-up. His side PT Prachuap went on to win the game against Pattani 3-0 with Townsend featuring off the bench.

He thought his ankle or knee would snap, both of which he's had operated on, but he was fortunate to hobble away and recover within a few minutes.
