Seattle Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet remains on the Physically Unable to Perform list and will miss at least the first four games of the 2026 season. Charbonnet, the team's co-starter in 2025, is recovering from ACL surgery performed in February after tearing his left knee in the January divisional playoff round. Though he has been seen running in straight lines during training camp, general manager John Schneider confirmed the team will not activate him before Week 5.

Under updated PUP rules, Charbonnet may begin practicing as early as Week 3 ahead of the Seahawks' home game against the San Francisco 49ers. In his absence, rookie first-round pick Jadarian Price is expected to lead the backfield, supported by George Holani and Emanuel Wilson. The Seahawks also released veteran cornerback Trevon Diggs but intend to re-sign him to the practice squad, citing his Pro Bowl experience with the Dallas Cowboys in 2021 and 2022.

Diggs, signed to a one-year minimum deal in August, showed promise in preseason action against the Kansas City Chiefs. Additionally, the team signed cornerback Terrion Arnold, who faces eight felony charges in Florida, and placed him on the commissioner exempt list while the league reviews his legal situation.
