"They can say whatever they want at the end of the day, but I think football will take care of a lot of it."

The backlash intensified after the Titans' 12-7 loss to the New York Giants, where Ward's last-second interception at the 7-yard line sealed the defeat. Chantel Ward's post criticized fans for targeting players' relatives, stating, "Criticize the game, criticize a play, be frustrated with your team. That's sports... But seeking out a player's sister, parents or other family members to personally attack them... is something completely different."

Some of Ward's inner circle, including his father Calvin Ward, have also faced accusations of sending messages in response to fan criticism. Ward acknowledged the personal toll, saying, "There's also an aspect of me being someone's son or brother." He remains confident that on-field success will resolve the issue: "Every adverse situation I have, I'm going to take on. It's really just about making plays on the football field."
