The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. for their Week 2 game against the New England Patriots, listing him as out with a foot injury. Pittman, who joined the Steelers via trade from the Indianapolis Colts, was listed as limited on Wednesday's practice report but missed both Thursday and Friday sessions. His absence follows a pattern of injuries, including missing training camp after an undisclosed issue during the August 8 lights practice at Latrobe Memorial Stadium.

Pittman contributed in Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons, catching all three targets for 58 yards and helping free up DK Metcalf. With Pittman sidelined, rookie Germie Bernard is expected to see increased playing time. The second-round Alabama product played just three snaps in Week 1 but earned praise from quarterback Aaron Rodgers for his learning curve and attitude. 'He's got a great attitude... he takes it to heart and studies it,' Rodgers said.

The injury comes after the team also ruled out cornerback Joey Porter Jr. with a back issue.
