Packers running back Josh Jacobs pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal damage to property in Brown County Court. He was convicted on battery and fined $1,000, with a deferred judgment on the damage charge.

"I fully understand the seriousness of the situation, and I take full responsibility," Jacobs said. Judge Marc A. Hammer accepted the plea on conditions including no further criminal acts, no contact with the victim, supervision, counseling, and restitution. Attorneys David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld, and Clarence Duchac said the damage charge will be dismissed after 12 months.

The NFL placed Jacobs on the commissioner exempt list after charges from a May 23 incident. With the plea, the NFL is likely to remove him and issue a suspension, standard six games for domestic violence. NFL spokesperson Brian Mc Carthy said his status remains unchanged.
