The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed wide receiver Jalen McMillan on injured reserve Wednesday, sidelining him for at least the next four games. A source told ESPN's Jenna Laine that McMillan suffered a PCL sprain in his left knee during Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings, a reaggravation of an injury from training camp. The early thinking, per the source, was that McMillan could be sidelined for six to eight weeks.\n\nThe Buccaneers also signed veteran quarterback Brett Rypien to their practice squad, giving the team another veteran backup with starter Baker Mayfield set to miss at least the next three weeks due to a dislocated right thumb.

The team also has quarterback Easton Stick on the practice squad. Undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels will start this week against the Green Bay Packers.\n\nMcMillan suffered his injury colliding with Vikings safety Josh Metellus while attempting a catch. He has no catches this season in two games, having missed the opener with the previous knee injury.

The Buccaneers also signed safety Ifeatu Melifonwu to the 53-man roster from the practice squad.
