Great Britain & Ireland staged a remarkable comeback to win the Walker Cup 13½-12½ over the United States at Lahinch in County Clare, Ireland, securing their first title since 2015. The Americans, featuring seven of the top 10 world amateur ranked players, swept the morning foursomes to build a three-point lead. Team USA needed just 3½ points in singles to retain the cup, but GB&I won the opening four matches.

Stuart Grehan defeated top-ranked Preston Stout, while Jack Whaley of England crushed William Jennings 8 and 7. The match came down to the final two matches on the 18th hole. Connor Graham birdied the last two holes to halve against 17-year-old Miles Russell.

Josh Hill, all square with Tennessee teammate Tyler Watts, hit a bunker shot to 3 feet and holed the winning birdie putt. "I don't know how I handled myself on that 3-footer because I was shaking," Hill said. The U.S. still leads the overall series 40-10-1. GB&I next aims to win away from home for the first time since 2001, with the 2028 matches at Bandon Dunes in Oregon.
