Verlinvest has invested in HomeExchange, a home-swapping platform, to support its expansion into mainstream travel. The investment firm, an international, family-backed evergreen investment company with more than €2.5 billion in assets under management, holds a portfolio that includes Oatly, Vita Coco and Tony’s Chocolonely, with past investments including Chewy and Vitaminwater. Existing shareholder Ternel is reinvesting alongside HomeExchange’s founders as ISAI exits its stake in the platform.

Co-CEOs Emmanuel Arnaud and Charles-Edouard Girard are increasing their personal stakes and will remain at the helm. The investment will deepen HomeExchange’s presence in North America and Western Europe, its primary growth markets. HomeExchange lists more than 600,000 homes across 155 countries, with 2.3 million travelers completing more than 11.8 million overnight stays on the platform over the past year.

Founded in 1992, HomeExchange was acquired in 2017 by Arnaud and Girard, who also co-founded Guest To Guest in 2011. The company consolidated several home exchange platforms under the HomeExchange brand in 2019 and launched HomeExchange Collection, a curated tier of upscale homes, in 2021. HomeExchange has been a certified B Corp since 2022 and employs more than 150 people across France, Croatia, Spain and the US.
