Pete Pacelli, a Chicago native and Yale graduate, found himself disillusioned on Bank of America's high-yield sales desk in New York City during the 2007 financial crisis. Seeking purpose, he moved home in 2009 to join mid-market PE firm Wind Point Partners as a senior associate while simultaneously enlisting in the US Navy Reserve as an intelligence officer. For eight years, Pacelli balanced both roles, commuting weekends to the Great Lakes Naval Base supporting a command based in England before returning for Monday investment meetings.

After a two-year break for an MBA from the University of Chicago, he founded Victory Views, a managed services business for the education industry, with a local family office. He returned to private equity in 2018 as a principal at Knox Capital, where he collaborated with Granite Creek partners. Impressed by the lower mid-market buyout shop's focus on entrepreneurs, Pacelli joined Granite Creek Capital in 2023 to lead a new agribusiness strategy.

Recently promoted to managing director, he focuses on investing in operating businesses that support crop and farming efficiency, noting that farmers are under pressure and institutional capital underserves agribusiness companies, especially in the lower middle market.
