Private equity firms Flexpoint Ford, Frazier Healthcare Partners, and Wind Rose Health Investors are targeting multi-state specialty pharmacies with robust margins and diverse revenue streams. These pharmacies supply hard-to-access pharmaceuticals and hold negotiating leverage with payers and manufacturers, making them attractive for scale.

Flexpoint Ford sold Artes Rx, a behavioral healthcare pharmacy based in Amherst, New York, to Linden Capital Partners in August. Formed in 2023 with Dom Meffe, Artes Rx grew from three pharmacies in one state to 16 across 14 states and Washington, DC, including the 2023 acquisition of Parkview Health Services.

In May, Wind Rose sold Altruix, operating from Cockeysville, Maryland, to Frazier Healthcare Partners. Altruix serves patients with mental illness and substance use disorders across 17 Mid-Atlantic pharmacies. Wind Rose invested in 2021 as Terrapin Pharmacy, merged Ganse Apothecary in 2022, and rebranded to Altruix in 2023. Partner CJ Burnes highlighted geographic expansion and strengthened pharma partnerships.

Meanwhile, HIG Capital invested in Outcomes One, a provider of clinical network services and pharmacy technology, addressing outdated legacy systems and labor shortages. A Warburg Pincus-led group also agreed to acquire a controlling stake in Pantherx Rare from Nautic Partners, General Atlantic, and Vistria Group, with closure expected soon.
