LLR Partners has made an undisclosed investment in EnergyCAP, a utility and energy management platform. Existing investor Resurgens Technology Partners remains invested alongside LLR. EnergyCAP has spent more than four decades helping organizations bring utility, energy and emissions data onto one platform.

The company serves more than 750 organizations across government, education, healthcare and commercial sectors, managing more than $50 billion in annual utility bill value. Shawn Lankton, chief executive of EnergyCAP, will continue to lead the company. William Blair advised EnergyCAP and its shareholders, while Lincoln International advised LLR on the transaction.

King & Spalding served as legal counsel to EnergyCAP, and Goodwin Procter served as legal counsel to LLR. LLR Partners is a lower middle-market private equity firm headquartered in Philadelphia with over $7.9 billion raised across seven funds. Resurgens Technology Partners is a tech-focused private equity firm headquartered in Atlanta.

Adi Filipovic, managing director at Resurgens, noted EnergyCAP’s tremendous progress since 2021.
