Anthropic has raised $65 billion in Series H funding, pushing its valuation to $965 billion and leapfrogging OpenAI as the highest-valued generative AI company. The San Francisco-based startup's latest round comes just three months after securing $30 billion in Series G funding, demonstrating unprecedented velocity in capital deployment for AI development. This valuation surge reflects intense investor confidence in Claude's enterprise potential.

The funding round was led by Altimer Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital, with participation from Amazon and other hyperscalers. This surpasses OpenAI's $110 billion round at an $840 billion valuation announced in February. Anthropic has now raised nearly $144 billion since 2021, with the company indicating this capital will help expand Claude's enterprise adoption beyond initial customers.

The massive funding reflects Anthropic's rapid business growth, with run-rate revenue crossing $47 billion. The company has expanded its enterprise customer base significantly, with CFO Krishna Rao stating the funding will "serve the historic demand" while maintaining research leadership. This positions Anthropic to challenge OpenAI's market dominance in the generative AI sector, particularly in enterprise applications.
