Less than a week before Apple debuts new iPhone 18 Pro models, research firm TrendForce has estimated the devices' prices based on the latest hardware cost environment. TrendForce's price estimates compared to last year's models show the iPhone 17 Pro at $1,099 rising to $1,249-$1,299 for the iPhone 18 Pro, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max at $1,199 rising to $1,349-$1,399 for the iPhone 18 Pro Max — increases of $150 to +$200 each.

Apple is likely to raise iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max prices by around 10-20% compared to last year's Pro models. TrendForce's June forecast of a 14-18% increase fits within this range. Meanwhile, Apple's first foldable iPhone ("iPhone Ultra") is expected to start between $2,099-$2,299, with top storage potentially exceeding $3,000.

The primary driver is memory costs: 256GB memory chip costs have risen nearly 400% year-on-year, pushing the overall bill of materials for a 256GB Pro model up ~38%. Apple is expected to absorb some costs via lower margins. The regular iPhone 18 is not expected until spring 2027 but faces similar increases. Official pricing will be revealed at Apple's "Surprise and shine" event on Wednesday, September 9.
