The vivo X500 series is now official with three models, headlined by the X500 Pro Max. The X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max are the first phones to launch with Media Tek’s flagship Dimensity 9600 Pro chip, while the vanilla vivo X500 gets the Dimensity 9600 M, essentially a rebadge of last year’s Dimensity 9500. Cameras are the series’ main focus.

The X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max feature a custom 24mm equivalent 50MP main cam using Sony’s LYTIA L910 sensor with Zeiss T* coating, f/1.57 aperture, and gimbal-grade OIS, plus an 85mm equivalent 200MP periscope telephoto on the Pro Max using Samsung's ISOCELL HP0 sensor. Both Pro models support the optional 400mm Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra and share a 15mm equivalent 50MP ultrawide. The vanilla X500 offers a 23mm equivalent 50MP Lytia 828 main cam, 72mm equivalent 64MP telephoto, and 50MP ultrawide.

Video capabilities include 4K 240fps slow motion, 8K 30fps on the Pro Max, and 10-bit 422 encoding with ACES color management. Displays are LTPO AMOLEDs with 2K resolution and 144Hz refresh, peaking at 4,500 nits on the Pros and 4,000 nits on the vanilla model. Battery capacities are 8,000 m Ah (Pro Max), 6,510 m Ah (Pro), and 7,500 m Ah (vanilla), all supporting 90W wired and 40W wireless charging.

Prices start at CNY 5,499 for the X500, CNY 6,499 for the X500 Pro, and CNY 6,999 for the X500 Pro Max. Open sales in China begin September 24, with no global launch details yet.
