Lava has launched the Shark 2 Pro, a budget-friendly 5G smartphone featuring a 6.75" IPS LCD display with 720 x 1,600px resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 550 nits peak brightness. The device is powered by the Unisoc T8200, a 6nm 5G chipset with an octa-core CPU and Mali-G57 MP2 GPU. It comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, expandable via microSD up to 1TB using the hybrid dual-SIM slot.

The Shark 2 Pro includes a 50MP main rear camera and an 8MP front camera, both capable of 1080p@30fps video recording. It also features a 6,000mAh battery with 18W charging, taking 2 hours and 40 minutes for a full charge. The phone runs Android 16 out of the box and is promised one major OS update to Android 17, along with 2 years of security patches.

Additional features include face unlock, side-mounted fingerprint reader with 280ms unlock time, IP64 rating, 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and dual-SIM 5G support. The device measures 8.7mm thick and weighs 207g. Lava offers a 1-year replacement warranty and Free Service@Home program. The Shark 2 Pro will be available through offline and online retailers at ₹16,700 ($175).

The phone essentially matches the hardware of the recently launched Virat V1 Pro, which costs slightly less at ₹16,000 on Flipkart.
