Apple's Safari is getting a major upgrade with macOS 27, including a new automatic tab organization feature. This feature uses Apple Intelligence to group your open tabs by topic without any manual effort. For example, opening several tabs about a single video game or a specific celebrity will prompt Safari to automatically create a related group.

The feature is not enabled by default after the update. To activate it, open Safari settings via the Menu Bar or by pressing Command + ,, navigate to the Tabs menu, and select Organize Tabs. Choose Automatically Create Topics to let the browser handle the grouping.

All processing is done on-device, ensuring Apple does not retain your browsing history. Users who prefer more manual control can instead select the Show Related Tabs option, which provides suggestions without auto-grouping. Beyond tab organization, macOS 27 brings other Safari features like Notify Me for tracking webpage changes and AI-powered custom extensions. macOS 27 is currently in beta, with a public release expected this fall.
