With powerful chips, lags are rare, but a hidden Android setting can make your phone feel snappier. This trick, available since Android 4.0, adjusts system animation speeds.

Enable Developer Options by going to Settings > About and tapping "Build Number" seven times. Then, under Drawing, set Window animation scale, Transition animation scale, and Animator duration scale to 0.5x, halving animation durations.

This doesn't improve performance, but it makes actions like unlocking and app switching feel faster. However, animations mask loading times, so on budget phones, cutting them can worsen the experience if apps load slowly.

Skins like Google's Pixel UI benefit more, while OnePlus' Oxygen OS is already faster. You can also slow animations for a soothing effect. Note that turning off Developer Options resets these settings.
