AppleCare One Family vs Individual plan comparison

AppleCare One Family launches in the United States on September 14 for $49.99 per month, removing the device limit and single-account restriction of AppleCare One Individual. The Individual plan costs $19.99 per month for three devices, with each additional device at $5.99. Family Sharing now lets up to 6 members share one plan covering all eligible devices automatically.

Individual stays cheaper through seven devices at $43.95 per month, tying Family at eight devices. Two people with three devices each pay $39.98 on Individual, while a fourth device each pushes combined costs above Family. Three base Individual plans at $59.97 make Family $9.98 cheaper from the start.

Family offers 6 theft or loss claims per year versus 3 on Individual. Separate AppleCare+ can still cost less for cheaper devices, while newer iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, Macs, and Apple Vision Pro headsets favor the fixed Family price.

Eligible devices join Family automatically, with manual enrollment for Individual. AppleCare One Family is available through Apple.
