Apple has expanded Tap to Pay on iPhone to eight additional countries in Latin America, allowing businesses to accept contactless payments without dedicated terminals.

The expansion covers Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, and Peru. Businesses can accept cards, Apple Pay, and other contactless wallets using a compatible iPhone and supported app.

Tap to Pay on iPhone works with iPhone XS and newer running the latest iOS. Customers hold a contactless card, iPhone, Apple Watch, or supported digital wallet near the merchant's iPhone to pay over NFC.

Per Apple's Latin American site, spotted by 9to5Mac, the feature launches via several payment platforms, though availability varies. Partners include Mercado Pago in Argentina; SumUp and Symbiotic in Colombia; Geopagos, Symbiotic, and Visa Acceptance Solutions in Costa Rica; Azul and Visa Acceptance Solutions in the Dominican Republic; Geopagos and Symbiotic in Guatemala, Honduras, and Panama; and SumUp in Peru. American Express, Mastercard, and Visa are supported. Apple first rolled out the feature in 2022.
