Google is rolling out Android 17 QPR2 Beta 5 to Pixel testers, fixing several issues including unexpected reboots during continuous UI scrolling in media-heavy apps. The update also resolves a bug where volume buttons wouldn't show the slider UI while casting, and an enhanced HDR issue that remained enabled despite being turned off.

Two build numbers are available: CP41.260828.005.A6 for Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, 7 Pro, 7a, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet, and CP41.260828.004.A8 for other eligible Pixels. Other fixes include Bluetooth device type icons not updating, text-rendering background highlights in search fields, Private Space unlock navigation, Google Wallet power button shortcut causing unresponsive touchscreen, camera crashes during panorama processing, and Bluetooth audio noise after calls.

Beta 4 in late August marked QPR2 entering Platform Stability, locking in APIs and signaling the final stretch toward launch. Google continues to address lingering Bluetooth issues after fixing call audio routing in August.
