Rumors claim Samsung is developing a Galaxy Z TriFold 2 for 2027, with a thinner, lighter, more durable design and a price near the original's $2,800. Tipster Lanzuk on Naver says Samsung may also reveal a "slideable" phone. The first TriFold was a "limited release" that lasted three months before Samsung pulled the plug, partly due to high component costs.

Samsung struggled with the original's manufacturing and rising component prices. A sequel at a similar price—or over $3,000—raises questions about consumer willingness to pay. Huawei's Mate XT beat Samsung to tri-fold phones, adding pressure.

The original had a 10-inch internal display and 6.5-inch cover. It remains unclear if a TriFold 2 would also be a limited release.
