iPhone Duo Fake Bezel Setting for Case Compatibility

Blogger Nicolas Lellouche discovered a new 'Shift Left Edge' setting in the iPhone Duo display settings during hands-on time. When enabled, it adds a black border to the left side of the outer screen, effectively creating a fake bezel to push content away from the folding edge. The setting’s description states it 'moves content when you are using a case that partially covers the left edge of the outer display.' A demo video shows it roughly doubles the left black border width.

Apple offers two first-party cases at launch: the iPhone Duo Case and the iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand. It remains unclear if these cases require the setting, but it may be intended for rugged third-party designs. The iPhone Duo launches on October 23rd.
