Apple has just kicked off a new wave of beta updates, and it’s not the one we were expecting. Beta 1 is here for watch OS 27.2, tv OS 27.2, and more.

After a full summer testing watch OS 27, tv OS 27, and more, Apple launched those updates to all users earlier this week. And now, the company has wasted little time getting started on a fresh wave of new beta releases. But it’s not the 27.1 updates we were expecting. Instead, Apple is now rolling out developer beta 1 for watch OS 27.2, tv OS 27.2, vision OS 27.2, and more.

The company previously confirmed that i OS 27.1 will ship in October before the i Phone Duo launches. But now it seems the company may ship i OS 27.2 and companion updates not long after. We were expecting i OS 27.1 to focus on software optimizations for i Phone Duo. Perhaps there aren’t any other substantial changes coming in that family of updates. Apple could always release watch OS 27.1 and companion updates with no changes beyond security fixes and compatibility with i Phone Duo.

We’ll keep you posted on anything new we discover in today’s beta 1 releases. Have you installed beta 1 for watch OS 27.2 or another update? Let us know of anything new you find via the comments.
