Pop star D4vd, real name David Burke, was taken into custody after police discovered the body of 15‑year‑old Celeste Rivas Hernandez in the front trunk of his black Tesla. The teenager had been reported missing in April 2024 from Lake Elsinore, California. Burke, 21, rose to fame with the 2022 track “Romantic Homicide,” which later drew eerie attention for a lyric about killing someone in the back of the mind. He was slated to open SZA’s SOS Tour and had just released his major‑label debut “Withered.” Following the discovery, remaining concert dates across the Midwest were cancelled. Los Angeles County medical examiners identified the 5‑foot‑2, 71‑pound teenager, noting she was wearing a tube top and leggings. A search warrant executed on a Hollywood Hills home—leased by Burke’s manager—produced additional evidence, prompting the September 16 arrest.
