HSBC CFO Pam Kaur to Step Down in 2025 Restructuring

HSBC chief financial officer Pam Kaur announced she will leave the bank next year before the annual shareholder meeting. Her departure follows less than two years in the role and comes after the recent exit of global insurance head Edward Moncreiffe. Kaur, who joined HSBC from Deutsche Bank in 2013, will remain in an advisory capacity to ensure a smooth transition.

The move is part of a broader reshuffle under Chief Executive Georges Elhedery, who has overseen significant leadership changes since taking office in 2024. HSBC is already searching for her successor, having faced criticism for its recruitment process last year. Elhedery has streamlined the operating committee to roughly 12 executives.

HSBC's London-listed shares dipped 1.5 per cent to £15.25 but are up 28 per cent year-to-date.
