A former Russian intelligence officer, Yuri Khrameev, allegedly offered $25,000 to a US citizen to track and kill someone in Lithuania's capital who was "telling lies about Russia," according to US prosecutors.

The Justice Department unsealed charges late Tuesday against five people working for Russia's intelligence services to conduct attacks and slayings in Europe and the US.

The defendants remain at large, the US Attorney's office in the Southern District of New York said.
