JPMorgan Chase & Co. is hiring three bankers for its natural resources investment banking team, according to a memo reviewed by Bloomberg News.

David Casson is taking up the role of head of North America mining investment banking and will be based in Toronto. He joins from Morgan Stanley, where he was a managing director in metals and mining for North America. Christopher Dahan is joining as a managing director on the natural resource M&A team and will be based in Houston. He joins from Perella Weinburg’s TPH & Co., where he was a managing director in the infrastructure group. Greg Kantrowitz will take up the role of a managing director covering power, renewables and clean-tech and will be based in New York. He was most recently the head of clean energy transition at Citigroup Inc.

"Collectively, these hires further enhance the depth and breadth of our fully integrated global natural resources platform," Jonathan Cox, Jennifer Dooly and James Janoskey, global co-heads of natural resources investment banking, wrote in the memo. "Their extensive experience, sector expertise and proven ability to advise clients through complex opportunities and challenges will strengthen our client coverage and position us to deliver exceptional outcomes."

The hiring of the three follows Jens Becker leaving JPMorgan’s energy investment banking group in July for Morgan Stanley. JPMorgan acted as lead financial adviser to AES Corp. earlier this year on its $10.7 billion take-private from a consortium led by GIP and EQT AB.
