Ospreys have turned to Australia in a summer recruitment drive, signing four Wallabies for the 2026-27 season. The Australian invasion began in May 2025 when lock Ryan Smith arrived, followed by back-row forward Liam Wright, centre Lalakai Foketi, wing Marika Koroibete and fly-half Lawson Creighton. Head coach Mark Jones said the timing was driven by necessity, as the club only received board approval to start recruitment in May.

Jones explained that bringing players from the same country would ensure cohesion and quicker integration. The signings come after the loss of Adam Beard to Montpellier and the departure of Jac Morgan and Dewi Lake, with Wright also eligible to play for Wales due to his grandfather from Pembroke. The 28-year-old former Wallabies captain aims to reclaim his place in international rugby while focusing on Ospreys first.
